Post Level 4 Update

Dear Chav Members and Friends,

As we enter our last weekend under level 4 Lockdown, let me congratulate you for your great success in maintaining Lockdown restrictions while also maintaining your training and putting in some great performances on the VRuns.

On Tuesday evening CHAV Exec met to look at what might be available for the Winter season and consider our approach on registration for the 2020/21 season.

Our recommendation is to hold off registering until it is clearer how the season is going to develop. We will keep you updated with any news from ANZ and Canterbury Athletics and, as soon possible, produce a revised Winter Calendar so you know what you can sign up for.

We do anticipate there will be club and interclub events once we move to Alert Level 2.

In the meantime we will extend your 2019/20 year membership until the end of May and will continue to provide updates. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to keep in touch. We encourage you to keep training but please make sure to run/train safely and responsibly. We encourage you to enter your runs on the club Strava site.  https://www.strava.com/clubs/335108( just go to the site and  Request to Join)

If you have friends whose other sport whether it is footy, hockey, netball, basketball, gymnastics or swimming is stopped, invite them to come running – it’s a great foundation for any sport.

Kia Kaha, He waka eke noa

(Be strong we are in this together!)
